Since 2019, the Office of Archaeology in Prince George’s County has been hosting this unique, two-day commemoration highlighting decades of archaeological discoveries and addressing the lasting legacies of chattel slavery in Prince George’s County. This year’s two-day event includes panel discussions, conversation circles, public archeological experiences, and overnight camping at sites where enslaved ancestors once lived.
