Ashland, Lexington, KY
August 18, 2023

Joe McGill and a team of living historians from throughout the US will participate in panel discussions, lectures, book signing and living history. Ashland is the plantation of the 19th-century Kentucky statesman Henry Clay. The buildings were built by enslaved African Americans, and enslaved people grew and harvested hemp, farmed livestock, and cooked and cleaned for the Clays.
