South Carolina Military Museum – Summer Camp Program

June 8 @ 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDT

Joseph McGill, Jr., founder of the Slave Dwelling Project, will present as Oscar Marion, an enslaved man who served alongside General Francis Marion during the American Revolution. Through living history interpretation and storytelling, this program brings to life the often-overlooked contributions of African Americans during the Revolutionary War. Designed for youth audiences, this interactive experience connects historical narrative with tangible understanding, offering participants a deeper and more inclusive perspective on America’s founding era.
